Appearance: [Avatar]Arata is a very tall man and is usually overdressed and by that I mean he usually has plenty of cloths on. Arata has a pelt usually draped around his right shoulder of a white wolf that he had killed long ago. On his left shoulder there is a metal crescent that is spiked.

Arata also is always wearing a long white robe with red painted onto the ends. His Zanpaktou tucked into his waist belt. His waist belt is a bright yellow and deep blue color with symbols decorated into this. This waist belt hangs down to Arata's calf area.

Personality:

Likes and Dislikes: Arata loves to make drinks. Its a favorite act of his to mix drinks together and sell them in fact he almost tried to open his own bar. But his brother talked him into becoming a shinigami instead. Arata now also loves to have a good fight with a skilled opponent of his own level. Arata also likes to have nice walks and discuss things with others. Btw...Arata likes Women. Arata Dislikes boring people. When people crowd him to much. Arrogant people most of all though.

History: Iki Shouten was born first in Arata's family in a quaint little shack on the outskirts of Rukongai, Arata's family was very much to poor to afford a house within the districts. Arata was the second son of the disgraced former Shoutten family head. This being Katsuo Shouten and a local barmaid,Akemi Shouten. When Iki (Arata's brother) was 5 Arata's mother gave birth to Arata. The brothers (Iki and Arata) Shouten grew up resenting their drunk of a father and the poverty of their family. The family though just kept growing. When Iki was 12 and Arata 7, little Akiko was born. Akiko brought joy to the lives of her two brothers,who spent the brunt of their life protecting her.

When Arata was 13, Katsuo (the father) ,died of alcohol poisoning(that figures doesnt it?) and Arata saw that Iki was left to help his mother take care of his two siblings. Arata felt bad for Iki because Such a young soul shouldn't have to go through such unjust affairs,but that wasn't it. All of the Shouten children lost their mother when Arata was only 15. Iki Shouten was in charge of his small family. Iki with some help from Arata spent years doing odd jobs for people in and around Rukongai to gather money to send his little sister to school. Though Arata couldn't help Iki until he was 18. On slow days, the boys begged for money to care for their sister 11 year old Akiko.

For more than a century, life treated the Shouten family unfairly, the three young souls left to fend for themselves. But one day,a blessing in disguise struck the family. We must start by saying that hunger is an odd thing in Soul Society,only those with increased Reishi have it,and all three Shouten children(being the offspring of a shinigami) had it. One day,Akiko's 169h birthday,that hunger hit them fairly hard. The 191 year-old Iki was forced to steal a cake(the most fitting food for a birthday) to feed his siblings.When running away with the cake(which ain't that easy to steal) Iki was caught by a passing shinigami.He was given two options:go to jail(where he would surely die) or join the Shinigami Academy.Reluctantly,Iki joined the Academy.There,Iki's natural optimism blossomed, Iki constantly visited the family. Eventutally Arata joined the Academy as well (about a year later.)
