Appearance: Iki Shouten isn't very tall,standing only at 5'8.But his 190ilb frame is built out of compacted muscles that have been sculpted from years of running,jumping and fighting in the streets.Iki's pure white hair attracts a lot of attention especially since they're coupled with his gun metal gray eyes.His square jaw is usually covered with a mischievous smile and his eyes have a spark of adventure in them.He wears his school uniform like everyone else except fro the fact that he has removed the sleeves(something his teachers don't appreciate) and he wears a choker around his neck.A pair of blue tinted goggles sit atop his head.

Personality: Iki is a very spirited person. He loves to be active and hands on with everything and mostly everyone. Iki never likes to stay still, so its hard to find him in one place for too long before he go finds something else to play with. He's a fast talker who can talk his way out of(or in to) any situation. He's even able to talk his superiors into letting him off the hook. This skill is necessary for the simple fact that Iki's favorite past time is to be where he's not supposed to be. He loves eavesdropping on captains' meetings and private conversations. This love has gotten him into many bad situations that took all of his skill to get out of.


Likes and Dislikes:Iki loves to eat chocolate and drink Sake.He enjoys Japanese artwork and the technology of the humans.He likes to crack jokes and to laugh with people around him.One of his biggest dislikes is being alone and he even fears having no one around him.He doesn't like popel picking on the weak or people with big mouths.

History:Iki Shouten was born in a quaint little shack on the outskirts of Rukongai,his family was too poor to afford a house within the districts.He was the first child of a former shinigami(the disgraced and "retired" 3rd seat of the 10th Division)Katsuo Shouten and a local barmaid,Akemi Shouten.The first five years of Iki's life were spent watching his parents struggle.In his fifth year,his mother gave birth to his little brother,Arata.It was Iki's job to take care of his little brother while his mother worked and his father got drunk.The brothers Shouten grew up resenting their drunk of a father and the poverty of their family.And that family was still growing.When Iki was 12 and Arata 7,little Akiko was born.The tiny girl brought joy to the lives of her two brothers,who spent the brunt of their life protecting her.

When Iki was 18,Katsuo,his father,died of alcohol poisoning(such an odd thing for a soul to die of) and Iki was left to help his mother take care of his two siblings.Such a young soul shouldn't have to go through such unjust affairs,but that wasn't it.The Shouten children lost their mother when Iki was only 20.Now,left with his 15 year old brother and 8 year old sister,iki Shouten was in charge of his small family.He spent years doing odd jobs for people in and around Rukongai to gather money to send his little sister to school.When his brother Arata was 18,he joined Iki in the job of finding business.On slow days,the boys begged or money to care for their sister.

For more than a century,life had treated the Shouten family unfairly,three young souls left to fend for themselves. But one day,a blessing in disguise struck the family.We must start by saying that hunger is an odd thing in Soul Society,only those with increased Reishi have it,and all three Shouten children(being the offspring of a shinigami) had it.And one day,Akiko's 169h birthday,that hunger hit them fairly hard.The 191 year-old Iki was forced to steal a cake(the most fitting food for a birthday) to feed his siblings.When running away with the cake(which ain't that easy to steal) Iki was caught by a passing shinigami.He was given two options:go to jail(where he would surely die) or join the Shinigami Academy.Reluctantly,Iki joined the Academy.There,Iki's natural optimism blossomed,but he never forgot where he came from and has visited his family since joining the academy.He hopes to graduate and restore honor to he Shouten name.
